Hello Manfred!

How are you? It's been quite a while and I hope that this email finds you well and happy.

Today I received my copy of 'Some Other Guys' and I wanted to write and thank you for the really nice work you did on the Timebeats chapter. It all came up really well, and it was a lovely surprise to see all the other mentions too! - particularly the thanks you gave me in the author's acknowledgements.

I now have 'Beat Waves 'Cross the Mersey' and 'Some Other Guys', and I feel very privileged to be included in this wonderful anthology of Merseybeat groups. It's also to great to relive those times and read about both the musicians that I knew, and the many that I didn't, but we were all part of a fantastic music revolution.

If it hadn't been for all your hard work and dedication, all that information would have just disappeared into oblivion. But now, even after all of us old Merseybeat musicians pass on, people will always be able to reference those times and get an idea of how magical they were.

Even my own son has understood a bit more about me from reading your book!!

I wish you every success with the books Manfred, and you never know, one day when I come back over to Europe I'll look you up in Bielefeld!

Hi Manfred, this is Ted Hesketh, the drummer from Focal Point and The Maraccas calling you. I just want to let you know that I am so happy getting a copy of MERSEY BEAT WAVES for xmas that my Daughter, as well you know, secretly got for me. Thank you very much for signing it as well.

It just blew me away when she gave me the book here at my house on Christmas Day, it was a total shock. Even my son and my wife had no idea that I was getting the book.

Anyway, I just want you to know that you have done a GREAT job with the book and you HAVE to let me know when the second book will be released because I will buy a copy of that one as well.

I hope you had a great xmas and look forward to hearing from you soon.

...got the CDs today and am listening to them tonight at work! They are great! keep them coming! (please forward my regards and thanks to Herr Kuhlmann!)

I have much work collecting other related CDs (I've recently ordered last January's Beryl Marsden compulation and just ordered Jimmy Cambell's solo LPs on CD) and periodically check for the Repetoire titles I missed a decade or so ago.

Please keep me updated on future releases (including the 'Some Other Guys' book).
