Book of the Villiers Engine Up to 1959

Author: Floyd Clymer
ISBN: 9781588501844
VP Book ID: 20096
Pages: 124
Dimensions: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"

Description:124 pages, 87 black & white illustrations, size 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Originally published under the title, The Book of the Villiers Engine, by C. Grange. This book is one of The Motorcyclist’s Library series published in the USA by Floyd Clymer by arrangement with the original publishers, Pitman Ltd. of London, England.

This re-print of the 1956 tenth edition has been updated with the inclusion of the 1959 supplement from the eleventh edition, the remainder of the engine type information being identical in all respects in both editions. The tenth edition was selected as being an important edition as it includes information on the Bond, Gordon and A.C. Petite three-wheel cars. This information was minimized and ultimately omitted from the subsequent editions.

Obviously, the primary focus of this book is on the 1959 and earlier Villiers engines and it includes information on the Junior, Junior De Luxe, Super Sports, MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4, MK5, 6A, 7A, 8A, 9A, 10A, 16A, 17A, 18A, 6B, 7B, 8B, 9B, 10B, 14B, 28B, 6C, 7C, 8C, 12C, 30C, 31C, 9D, 10D, 12D, 1E, 2E, 3E, 6E, 8E, 9E, 1F, 2F, 4F, 6F, 1H, 2H, 3K, 2L, 2T & 3T engines. However, those seeking detailed information on the more recent models such as the 6F, 31C, 2L, 9E, 10E, 31, 32, 32A, 34A, 2T, 3T and Siba Dynastart unit are directed to our other Villiers publication ISBN 9781588501349. This publication also includes detailed information on the earlier 4F, 12D, 29C, 30C, 7E & 8E engines.

The first edition of the Motorcyclist’s Library ‘Book of the Villiers Engine’ was published in 1929 and subsequently revised and published through numerous editions. The two editions re-printed by VelocePress were chosen as being the most comprehensive as they cover both a broad model range and extensive time-line of Villiers engines.

This publication has been out-of-print and unavailable for many years and is becoming increasingly more difficult to find on the secondary market. We are pleased to be able to offer this reproduction as a service to all Villiers motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide...$24.95 USD
